The compound particle has remarkably advanced since the modern era, and shows the analytic characteristic of contemporary Japanese sentences well. Among the newly appeared compound particles, ni kanshite was selected, and its settlement process was studied though the examples in the modern literature. Examples of using ni kanshite appears in the 1870s. In the late 1880s, ni kanshite was used as a translated word for about and concerning in English-Japanese Dictionary, and the usage already settled down in the 1880s. The origin of ni kanshite could be traced through Dutch-Japanese Dictionary, English-Japanese Dictionary, and English-Chinese Dictionary published in the modern times. It could have been made under the influences of ~に拘って(ni kakawatte), translated words of Dutch and English prepositions and 関於(kwan yu), Chinese prepositions.

複数の単語が結合し助詞や接続詞のように機能する複合辞は、近代以降顕著に発達しており、近現代日本語の文章の分析的特徴を表している。本稿ではこのような複合辞の中で｢～に関して｣に注目し、近代の雑誌と書籍、辞書などの文献の用例を通してその定着過程を考察してみた。文献調査の結果、1895年に発行された雑誌『太陽』では複合辞の用例が多数現れ、すでに現在のような用法が定着していることが分かる。1870年代からは用例は多くないが、本動詞と共に複合辞として使われる例が見られはじめる。1880年以降は用例の増加と共に、『官報』と法令など公文書に使われることから複合辞の用法が定着していることがうかがえる。　一方、1880年代の英和辞書において｢～に関して｣が｢about, concerning｣のような前置詞の訳語として当てられていることから、その生成にオランダ語と英語の前置詞、また中国語の介詞｢関於｣が影響している可能性を考察してみた。
