The Function of Code Switching shown in Language Materials in Modern Enlightenment Era Kang, So-yeong This study analyzed Korean sentences including code converted foreign language by comparing them with language habits of multi-language users. As a result, they were active in code conversion of various phenomena occurring with the inflow of foreign civilizations that cannot be expressed in Chosun Language (Korean) into foreign language. It was possible that Korean language had Josa(postposition), Eomi(the ending of a word) and Jeobmisa(suffix) which allow easy accommodation of foreign languages. Intellectuals often showed their face-saving formulas and their feelings accompanied by the message in code converted vocabularies, which is frequently found in the analysis of conversations of multi-language users. The disorderly distribution of foreign vocabularies in Korean sentence can be interpreted as aspects of multi-language users. And it is related to figuring out a history of writing and the stratum of the structured colonial authority in the diglossic environment.
