Analysis of poetic Texts based on Rhetorical Structure Theory - with special reference to ｢Chintallaekkoch｣ and ｢Silence of Nim｣ Nam, Gi-taek․Choi, Seoung-ki This purpose of research is analyzing structure of poetic texts by using the Rhetorical Structure Theory(RST). It could be concerned a method analyzing argumentative text. RST has been recognized to serve a method for describing text structure. Especially, It is a very appropriate tool to analyze text for author’s intention in the non-literature text. So RST analyzing author’s intention can apply to argumentative texts. After providing a brief overview of the characteristics of RST, we reexamined the precedence of research for analysis of poetic texts. And We analyzed new poetic texts, ｢Chintallaekkoch｣ and ｢Silence of Nim｣. From the result of this research, if we draw RST diagram and specify rhetorical relations, it makes possible to analyze the surface structure, to grasp poet’s original intention more distinctly and to help readers perform successful communication with poets in the poems.
