Due to the decreasing population of high school graduates in South Korea, colleges have been situated in voluntary and/or involuntary restructuring. Government takes the employment rate of college graduates in a college graduates in a colleges as an important criteria to determine financial supports and sanctions. With that, colleges have tried to increases the average employment rate. A paucity literature, however, has paid attention to this issue. The research aims to investigate the current situation of employment supporting offices in colleges in Seoul Capital Area and share best practices of employment assisting programming and services. B University, A University, and Y University were selected as research sites for this case study. Three suggestions were made. First, top leadership of colleges should plays a proactive role to support an employment office so that the office is operated independently from, but collaboratively with academic departments. Secondly, expertise and student friendly skills of staff in employment offices should be built as early as possible. Lastly, employment related courses should be expanded so that all of students can take them and the teaching quality of faculty should also be managed.

점차 감소하는 입학자원으로 인하여 상아탑으로 여겨져 왔던 대학에서도 구조조정의 바람은 피할 수 없는 현실이 되었다. 또한 정책적으로 ‘취업률’은 대학 평가의 중요 잣대가 되고 있다. 이런 위기와 변화 속에서 전문대학은 취업률 향상을 위해 고군분투하고 있는 실정이나 전문대학을 대상으로 한 맞 춤형 취업 및 진로 교육에 대한 연구는 턱없이 부족한 실정이다. 그래서 이 연구에서는 전문대학의 취 업지원부서의 현황을 분석하고, 우수대학 사례 조사를 통해 전문대학의 취업지원 제도 및 교육프로그 램 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 수도권 소재 취업지도 관련 우수대학으로는 B대학교, A대학교, Y대학교가 선정되었으며 문헌 조사 및 사례 분석을 토대로 이 연구에서는 다음과 같이 제안하고자 한다. 첫째는 취업지원부서의 운영적 측면에서 가장 중요하게 여겨지는 부분은 총장의 의지다. 취업률의 중요성 인 식을 토대로 취업지원부서의 운영은 독립적이나 업무적으로는 학과와 유기적 연계가 이뤄져야 한다. 둘째는 취업교육프로그램의 전문성과 효율성 부분이다. 내부 직원의 전문성 함양이 시급하며, 교육 프 로그램은 학생 맞춤형, 눈높이 맞춤형 형태로 진행되어야 한다. 셋째는 취업교과가 전체 학생을 대상으 로 확산되어야 하며, 교수의 질적 수준도 관리가 이뤄져야 한다.
