The purpose of this study was to examine which effects the art therapy has on a change in their cognitive and perceptual ability as for schizophrenia patients. The aim was to see a change in cognitive function and perceptual ability through pre-post qualitative analysis and to verify effectiveness of art therapy by carrying out LMT(Landscape Montage Technique) targeting schizophrenia patients. The subjects in this study were 12 chronic schizophrenia patient who had been hospitalized in a mental hospital in the city of Y for three years or more. The group art therapy held once a week, 90 minutes session for 25 times. The findings are as follows. First, as a result of carrying out post-test of LMT in group art therapy, the cognitive art therapy program could be considered to have effect on cognitive and perceptual ability by having influence upon schizophrenia patients' language expression ability. Second, as a result of carrying out post-test of LMT in group art therapy, the cognitive art therapy program could be considered to have positive effect on cognitive and perceptual ability by having influence upon schizophrenia patients' reality testing. Third, as a result of carrying out post-test of LMT in group art therapy, it could be considered to have positive effect on social cognitive and perceptual ability by having influence upon schizophrenia patients' interpersonal relations and social-skill ability. There is significance in a sense that a Christian counselor or therapist can have sole opportunity available for guiding those people to God while understanding clients deeply and curing disease through medium of art therapy.

본 연구는 집단미술치료가 정신분열증 환자들의 인지 및 지각능력 변화에 어떤 효과가 있는지를 알아보기 위해서 LMT(풍경구성법)를 검사도구로 하여 사전-사후를 질적분석하여 미술치료의 효과를 알아보았다. 본 연구대상은 Y시의 정신병원에 3년 이상 입원해 있는 만성정신분열증 환자 12명을 대상으로 총 25회기 동안 주 1회씩, 매 회기 90분간 인지 및 지각능력에 도움이 되는 미술치료프로그램을 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단미술치료의 LMT 사후검사 결과, 인지적 미술치료 프로그램이 정신분열증 환자의 언어 표현력에 영향을 미침으로 인지 및 지각능력에 효과가 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 둘째, 집단미술치료의 LMT 사후검사 결과, 인지적 미술치료 프로그램이 정신분열증 환자의 현실검증력에 영향을 미침으로 인지 및 지각 능력에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 집단미술치료의 LMT 사후검사 결과, 정신분열증 환자의 대인관계 및 사회 기술능력에 영향을 미침으로 사회인지 및 지각능력에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 기독교 상담자나 치료자가 미술치료의 매체를 통하여 내담자들을 깊은 수준에서 이해하고 치유하면서 이들을 하나님께로 인도할 수 있는 가능성을 보여 준 점에서 그 의의가 있다.
