The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Madangguknori (traditional Korean outdoor performance) on young children’s sociality and preference of traditional Korean music. The subjects used in this study were 40 four-year-olds) who attended the K and S kindergarten in S city. The mean age of the subjects was 51.3 months. It used “Evaluation Scale of Young Children’s Sociality Development” and “Test the preference of traditional Korean music” in collection of data, and t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of this study have revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the post-test score and pre-test score in young children’s sociality and preference of traditional Korean music. In conclusion, the results of this study suggested that Madangguknori in this study would be effective to develop young children’s sociality and preference of traditional Korean music.

본 연구는 마당극놀이 활동이 유아의 사회성과 국악 선호도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 S시에 소재한 K유치원과 S유치원에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 40명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으며, 연구도구는 Vineland(1977)의 사회성숙도 검사와 Jiao와 Ji(1986)의 사회적 능력 검사를 김숙경(1988)이 수정ㆍ보완한 유아의 사회성 발달 평정 척도를, 국악 선호도 검사는 강지희(2006)가 사용한 국악 선호도 검사 도구를 연구자가 수정ㆍ보완하여 사용하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 유아 마당극놀이 활동이 유아의 사회성과 국악선호도에 영향을 미쳤으며 이러한 차이는 통계적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 마당극 놀이 활동이 유아의 사회성 발달과 국악에 대한 선호도를 형성하는데 긍정적인 영향이 있다고 결론내릴 수 있다.
