This research is conducted to analyze the effect of art expression abilities and creativity of young children, through the experience of playing in the woods. In order to examine this, the effectiveness was verified by using the early childhood experience of playing in the woods along with using art activities. There were 20 young children participants in this study, whom wereall 5 years of age. They were from K Nursery located in Incheon. They experienced playing in the woods along with art education once a week from March to December. Whereas the comparison group comprised of 20 young children from S Nursery located in the same city, this group learned based on the conventional teaching methods of group art training. The collected data was validated through the t test using the SPSS statistical program. In terms of the results, first, the experience of playing in the woods with art education gave a positive effect on the art expression abilities of young children. The result of the sub-factors of the image, representation, and the use of the materials were significantly improved. Secondly, the early childhood art education through the experience of playing in the woods gave a positive effect of the overall score of young children’s creativity. The result of the sub-factorswhich were the fluency, originality, imagination, and shapes also had a positive impact. As a result of this study, the early childhood art education through the experience of playing in the woods was effective to develop the young children’s art expression abilities and creativity.

이 연구는 숲에서의 놀이경험을 통한 유아미술교육이 유아의 미술표현능력과 창의성 증진에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 유아들에게 숲에서의 놀이경험을 통한 미술활동을 실시하고 그 효과를 검증하였다. 연구대상으로는 인천광역시에 위치한 K어린이집의 만5세 20명의 유아들이 숲에서의 놀이경험을 통한 미술교육을 3월에서 12월까지 주1회씩 40회에 참가하였다. 반면 비교집단은 같은 시에 위치한 S어린이집 20명의 유아들이 종래의 수업방법인 집단 미술교육으로 진행되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 통계프로그램을 이용하여 t검증을 하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 숲에서의 놀이경험을 통한 유아미술교육이 유아의 미술표현능력에 긍정적인 영향을 주었고 하위 요인인 이미지, 표현, 재료 및 도구사용의 검사 결과에 모두 의미 있게 향상되었다. 둘째, 숲에서의 놀이경험을 통한 유아미술교육이 유아의 창의성 종합 점수에서 긍정적인 영향을 주었고 하위 요인인 유창성, 독창성, 상상력, 도형에서도 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 결과적으로 본 연구 결과는 유아들의 미술표현능력과 창의성 증진에 효과적임을 나타냈다.
