For 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Korea, there has been remarkable development in the quality and quantity of Korean language education in mainland China. Looking forward into the coming 10 years, it is believed that with the relocation of its value, Korean language education will have more space for its development and more opportunities in the construction of teaching staffs, the revise and perfection of courses, optimizing teaching methods, compiling textbooks, integration of enterprises, universities and research and the reinforcement of international communication. Based on the above facts, this thesis discusses the current status of Korean language education in universities of mainland China and its prospects in five parts. In the first part, it discusses the understanding of Korean language education and Korean culture education for Chinese. In the second part, one of the core factors concerning Korean language education, the teaching staffs, is talked about. This part covers the influence on Korean language education brought about by the director’s capability of handling administrative affairs, education background and his Chinese language skills. The third part is about the problems in courses of research-oriented universities and application-oriented universities and the solutions. Since the recruitment of students and their employment are of fundamental importance in Korean language education, the problems in these areas are discussed in part four. The last part is about the prospect of Korean language education. It brings about the general direction of constructing Korean major and explores great possibilities and opportunities for the development of Korean language education in private universities in China, the necessities of increasing the support to Korean language education in private universities and the understanding of problems in Korean language education in China caused by unconventional development in recent years.

중한 수교 20주년을 맞은 이 시점에서 돌이켜 볼 때 중국대학의 한국어교육은 지난 20년간 양과 질 면에서 모두 급속한 발전을 해왔다고 할 수 있다. 앞으로의 10년을 내다볼 때, 한국어 교육은 가치 재정립과 더불어 교수진의 구성, 교과과정의 개정과 보완, 교수방법의 효율화, 합 리적인 전공교재 집필, 산학연 협력 강화, 국제교류 활성화 등 면에 더욱 큰 발전 공간과 가능 성이 있을 것으로 믿어 의심치 않는다. 이러한 인식을 바탕으로 본고에서는 중국대학의 한국 어 교육 현황과 전망에 대하여 주로 아래와 같은 다섯 가지 부분으로 나누어 논의하였다. 첫 째, 중국인을 위한 한국언어교육과 한국문화교육에 대해 어떻게 이해하며 어떻게 다루어야 할 것인가. 둘째, 한국어교육과 관련 되는 핵심요소인 교수진 구성 문제, 그 중에서도 학과주임교 수의 행정업무 처리 능력, 학력, 현지 언어 구사 능력 등이 한국어교육에 대해 어떠한 영향을 미치는가. 셋째, 연구형 대학과 실용형 대학을 포함하여 한국어 교과과정 중에 어떠한 문제들 이 존재하는가. 이러한 문제점들을 어떻게 보아야 할 것인가. 넷째, 한국어교육의 바탕이라고 할 수 있는 학생모집과 취업, 어떤 문제에 직면하고 있는가. 다섯째, 한국어교육의 미래 전망 과 관련하여 중국 사립대학 한국어교육 발전의 무한 가능성, 사립대학 한국어교육에 대한 대 폭 지지 필요성, 한국어교육의 “과속” 성장으로 인한 문제의식과 이를 해결하기 위한 학계에 서 갖추어야 할 필요한 자세 등에 관한 내용을 두루 다루었다.
