The purpose of this study was to analyze the images of special education teachers among pre-service general education teachers. For that purpose, the study administered a semantic differential scale to 560 students at K University of Education and the college of education at K University. The results were as follows: first, the factors of the "special education teacher" images perceived by pre-service General Education Teachers were analyzed. As a result, three factors were identified and named evaluation, activity, and ability. pre-service general education teachers had an overall positive perception of special education teachers. Second, the perceptions of special education teachers among pre-service general education teachers were examined according to the school levels of pre-service general education teachers. As a result, they had a positive perception of special education teachers in the order of secondary school, elementary school, and kindergarten. Finally, male pre-service general education teachers had a more positive perception of special education teachers than their female counterparts. The students who had an experience with special education courses also had a more positive perception of special education teachers than those who had no such experiences. The research findings can serve as basic data to consult in the process of teacher education for successful inclusive education by understanding pre-service general education teachers' attitudes toward special education teachers that they need to work with for future inclusive education.

이 연구는 교육대학교와 사범대학에 재학 중인 예비 일반교사의 특수교육교사에 대한 이미 지를 분석함으로써 특수교육교사의 이미지 개선에 필요한 자료를 얻는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 K교육대학교 재학생 200명과 K대학교 사범대학 재학생 360명, 총 560명의 예비 일 반교사들을 대상으로 의미변별척도를 실시하여 특수교육교사에 대한 이미지를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 예비 일반교사가 지각하는 특수교육교사 이미지의 요인을 분석 한 결과, 3개 요인을 추출할 수 있었으며, 요인의 이름을 각각 평가, 활동, 능력으로 명명하였 다. 각 요인별로 살펴본 결과, 예비 일반교사들은 특수교육교사를 전반적으로 긍정적으로 지 각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비 일반교사의 학교급에 따라 살펴본 결과, 예비 중등교사, 예비 초등교사, 예비 유치교사 순으로 특수교육교사를 긍정적으로 지각하는 것으로 나타났고, 형용사군에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 예비 일반교사들은 남학생이 여학생에 비해 특수교육교사를 더 긍정적으로 지각하고, 특수교육 이수 경험이 있는 학생이 경험이 없는 학생보다 특수교육교사를 긍정적으로 지각하는 것으로 나타났으며 형용사군에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 예비 일반교사의 미래 통합교육 을 위한 협력 대상인 특수교육교사에 대한 이미지를 파악함으로써 교사양성과정에서 예비 일 반교사의 특수교육교사에 대한 지각을 긍정적으로 향상시키는 내용이나 프로그램을 마련하는 데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
