This study aims to examine the effects of nature exploration art activity on children’s emotional intelligence and drawing representation ability. It selected 45 five-year old children attending S kindergarten in C city as the subject of research. The experimental group performed nature-friendly art activities related to the themes of their life in kindergarten while the comparative group participated in general art activities related to the themes of their life. As a result of the research, the experimental group participating in nature-friendly art activities showed significant differences from those of the comparative group in children’s emotional intelligence and drawing representation ability. Therefore, it was found that nature exploration art activities were effective in improving children’s emotional intelligence and drawing representation ability.

본 연구는 자연탐색 미술활동이 유아의 정서지능과 그리기표상능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 C시에 소재한 S유치원 만 5세아 유아 45명을 선정하였다. 실험집단은 유치원의 생활주제와 연관된 자연탐색 미술활동을 실시하였으며, 비교집단은 생활주제와 관련된 일반 미술활동을 전개하였다. 연구결과 자연탐색 미술활동을 실시한 실험집단이 생활주제와 관련된 일반 미술활동을 실시한 비교집단보다 정서지능과 그리기표상능력이 높게 나타나 집단간 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 자연탐색 미술활동이 유아의 정서지능과 그리기 표상능력 증진에 효과적임을 알 수 있다.
