The successful experience during The Saemaul Movement in the history of our nation is one of the great cultural heritage. The Saemaul spirit of our nation that the ball had to go out with the spirit of the new era, which like all the thought and spirit, represents the spirit of advanced ideas and him to develop glittering cultural heritage; Hwarang spirit, Sunbee spirit, patriots spirit are fused was to be made possible. Therefore, they could said that the ideological origin of The Saemaul Movement faced the same orbit to the history of our nation. Namely The Saemaeul movement constantly the answer you're looking for a challenging attitude and innovation to find the answer to the practical challenges did solve the social reform movement to meet the demands of contemporary social cultural heritage is to be handed down. Thus Saemaeul Movement is exercised benchmarking in the international community today which means that you need to try it again recognize the fact. We refocus on the value of the Saemaeul Movement and improve awareness of it and will have to restore the value.

새마을운동의 성공적 경험은 우리 민족 역사상 위대한 문화유산 중에 하나이다. 이는 모든 사상과 정신이 그러하듯이 그에 앞선 사상과 정신을 계승적으로 발전시켜 새로운 시대정신으로 삼는 것으로 볼 때 새마을정신 속에서 우리민족의 빛나는 문화유산인 화랑 정신, 선비정신, 호국정신이 융합되어 있었기에 가능한 것이었다고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 새마을운동의 사상적 연원은 우리 민족의 역사와 그 궤를 같이 한다고 하겠다. 즉 새마 을운동은 시대적․사회적 요청에 부응하여 끊임없이 그 해답을 찾으려는 도전적인 자세 와 그 해답을 찾아내는 혁신으로 현실적 당면과제를 해결해낸 사회개혁운동으로 계승해 야 할 문화유산이다. 따라서 오늘날 국제사회에서 새마을운동을 벤치마킹하고 있다는 사 실은 이를 다시 인식해 볼 필요가 있다는 것을 의미한다. 이에 새마을운동의 가치를 재 조명하고, 그에 대한 인식의 개선과 그 가치를 되찾아야 할 것이다.
