According to the coming of smart age, learning environment and learners are also changing. Smart education has a great educational availability because it can make learners access to information without time and space constraints, develop their self-directed and creative learning capability, individualized learning and learner-teacher communication easy. Therefore this study suggested the necessity of smart education in home economics area of practical arts education and practically available strategies with the change of the times. The results of this study found that smart education has relevance with practical arts curriculum revised in 2009, and since home economics area reflected social changes sensitively and contained various experiential activities necessary for our actual life, smart education can be used as a helpful means for accomplishing the goals of home economics area. The present study presented smart tools and applications available in home economics area with houseworks and roles of family members. Smart education strategies and methods in home economics area were presented with smart applications and tools. Application education contained its uses and practices available by units of home economics area and using smart tools suggested educational effects, applications and instructions of available tools. Reorganization of class considering the group without smart device and development of application data for making cloth and life articles are required. Furthermore, health problems, learning management and internet addiction from the use of smart devices should be considered. Therefore, it is expected that most of units in home economics area of practical arts can achieve its goals through smart education, motivate learning and be used during or after class, and it can be also available as a tool for the various experiential activities required for real life.

이 연구는 시대변화에 맞추어 실과 가정영역에서 스마트교육의 필요성을 알아보고 실제 활용 방안을 제시함으로서 스마트교육의 기초자료로 활용하고자 실시하였다. 문헌 고찰을 통하여 스마트교육의 개념, 목표, 특징, 교수학습 모형 등을 고찰하였고, 가정영역에서 스마트교육 활용을 위한 필요성을 실과 교육과정을 바탕으로 분석하였다. 스마트 폰이 대중화됨에 따라 스마트 기기용 어플리케이션(이하 앱)을 실과 가정영역 단원을 중심으로 검색하여 2009개정 교육과정 가정영역 단원을 중심으로 활용 방안 및 전략을 제시하였다. 연구의 결과 스마트교육은 2009 개정 실과 교육과정과 관련성이 있으며, 가정영역은 사회의 변화를 민감하게 반영하고 있고, 실생활에 필요한 다양한 체험 활동 내용을 담고 있기 때문에 가정영역의 목표 달성에 유용한 수단으로 스마트교육이 활용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 실과 가정영역에서 활용 가능한 도구의 용도, 활용 방안 및 교과서 적용 시 활용의 예를 ‘가정일과 가족원의 역할’단원을 중심으로 제시하였다. 앱 활용 교육에서는 2009 개정 실과교육과정의 가정영역에서 단원별로 활용 가능한 앱을 소개하고 앱 활용 수업 전략을 제시하였다. ‘헝겊용품 및 생활용품 만들기’ 단원을 제외한 대부분의 단원에서 앱 활용 교육이 가능하였으나, 실제 적용시 스마트 디바이스가 없는 집단을 고려한 수업의 재구성이 필요하고, 아울러 스마트 기기 사용으로 인한 건강 문제, 학습 관리, 인터넷 중독 등에 유의하여야 할 것이다. 이상과 같이 실과 가정영역에서는 대부분의 단원에서 스마트 교육을 통해 교과의 목표를 달성할 수 있으며, 학습 내용에 따라 동기 유발을 시키고, 수업 중이나 수업 후에도 활용될 수 있으며, 실생활에 필요한 다양한 체험 활동을 위한 도구로서 적절하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
