The purpose of this study was to confirm the mediation effects of multidimensional perfectionism on the relationship between mothers' parenting style and academic procrastination among the upper graders in elementary school. The subjects of this study were 373 children in fifth and sixth grade at A elementary schools in Incheon. Correlation analysis was performed in order to examine the relationship among variables. Hierarchical regression analysis was performed to verify the mediation effect of multidimensional perfectionism. The summary of this study's result was as follow. First, as the result of the correlation analysis between the major variables, the mother's authoritarian parenting style showed positive correlation with socially imposed perfectionism and academic procrastination. The mother's authoritative parenting style showed positive correlation with self-oriented perfectionism. However, the mother's authoritative parenting style showed negative correlation with socially imposed perfectionism and academic procrastination. Self-oriented perfectionism showed negative correlation with academic procrastination. Socially imposed perfectionism, however, showed positive correlation with academic procrastination. Second, in the analysis of the mediation effect of multidimensional perfectionism between mothers' parenting style and academic procrastination, the result showed that self-oriented perfectionism had a partial mediating effect on the relationship of authoritative parenting style and academic procrastination, and socially imposed perfectionism had a partial mediating effect on the relationship of authoritarian parenting style, authoritative parenting style and academic procrastination. In this study, it is required to explore and apply desirable mother's parenting style in order to help children enhance their performance in school.

이 연구는 초등학교 고학년 아동이 지각한 어머니의 양육태도와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 다차원적 완벽주의 성향의 매개효과를 확인하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 인천시 A초등학교 5, 6학년 아동 373명을 연구대상으로 하였으며, 각 변인 사이의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고 다차원적 완벽주의 성향의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는, 첫째, 주요 변인들 간의 상관분석 결과 어머니의 독재적인 태도는 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의, 학업적 지연행동과 정적 상관을 보였다. 어머니의 권위있는 태도는 자기지향적 완벽주의와 정적 상관을 보였고 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의, 학업적 지연행동과 부적 상관을 보였다. 자기지향적 완벽주의는 학업적 지연행동과 부적 상관을 보인 반면, 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의는 학업적 지연행동과 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육태도와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 다차원적 완벽주의 성향의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 자기지향적 완벽주의는 권위있는 태도와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났고 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의는 독재적인 태도 및 권위있는 태도와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 학생들이 과업 수행을 잘하도록 돕기 위해서는 아동기부터 어머니의 바람직한 양육태도를 탐색하여 적용하고자 하는 노력이 요구됨을 시사한다.
