The dance creation education through Michael Polanyi’s epistemology recognizes that ‘relational knowledge’ should be learned by the body through performative knowledge which is the acquisition of dance through familiarization of the body and not just in theory. The relational knowledge of Polanyi is referring to tacit knowledge, and it is suggesting that movements must be performed by expanding the body and absorbing all the senses through the body even in dancing. This is done through the dependent elements that consciously recognize objects by focusing on the contributive reality other than the focused elements that recognize objects directly. For this purpose, ‘how do we come to know a dance’ and ‘with what do we feel a dance’ was observed in an educational sense. The former suggests that all acts are performed by thoughts and it focuses on leaving the aspect of dance awareness open through the education of ‘thinking’ and ‘recognizing’ through one’s body by forming thoughts into practical action. The latter focuses on the method of learning through perception by recognizing the reality through life experiences that occur in creation such as acts created from movements and expression of emotion. The two types tell us dance isn’t just emotional instructions or figurative expressions that create linear designs, but it is sustained through movement that entails dependent elements from tacit knowledge. Accordingly, real environment and creative meaning are established through experience and give the creators the possible make-up of recognizing the body through mind and body by providing recognition of the dependent relationship which is inherent. Thus, the tacit knowledge of Polanyi helps with the concurrency of dance movements from creative senses and provides exceptional meaning to recognizing dual structure that uses the workings of conscious movements for dance creation education through physical consciousness. This philosophical approach is based on the communication of dance creation education through Polanyi’s epistemology, and this will exert the influence of specific dance movements and increase learning ability.

폴라니의 인식론을 통한 춤창작 교육은 춤의 지식이 머리로만 배우는 것이 아니라 몸으로 익히고 배우는 수행적 지식으로 몸의 습득을 통해 ‘관계적 지식’을 배워야함을 인지하였다. 이러한 그의 관계적 지식은 암묵적지식의 실체로 직접적으로 사물을 인식하는 초점적요소외에 공헌하는 실체에 주의를 기울여 의식에 의해서 사물을 아는 종속적요소를 통해 춤에서도 몸을 확대하고 모든 감각을 몸으로 흡수 시켜서 움직임을 행해야 한다는 것이다. 이를 위해 ‘춤을 어떻게 아는가’와 ‘무엇으로 춤을 느끼는가’를 교육적으로 살펴보았다. ‘춤을 어떻게 아는가’는 모든 행위는 사고를 통해 이루어지고 사고의 실용적 형성으로 자신의 신체를 통해 ‘생각하기(thinking)’와 알아차리기 (recognizing)’를 통한 교육으로 춤 의식의 측면을 열어 두는 것에 중점을 두었다. ‘무엇으로 춤을 느끼는가’는 움직임을 이용하여 동작을 만들어내고 감정을 표현해 내어 창조할 때, 나타나는 삶의 수행된 경험으로 종합적으로 실재(reality)를 인식하여 지각하는 방법으로 체득하는 것에 있었다. 이 두 가지를 통해 춤은 단순히 감정적인 지시나 직선의 디자인을 만들어가는 표상적인 표현이 아니라 암묵적지식이 종속적 요소로 수반되는 움직임을 통해 지탱해 나가는 것이다. 이에 체험으로 실재 환경과 창조적 의미들을 구축하고, 내재된 종속적 관계인식의 제공을 통해 창조자들에게 신체와 정신으로 몸을 인식하는 구성의 가능성을 허용하게 된다. 이에 폴라니를 통한 암묵적 지식은 창조적 감각에 의해 춤동작의 발생성을 도우며 신체적인 의식을 통해 춤창작교육을 의식적인 움직임의 기능을 사용하는 이중적 구조로 인식하는 것의 의미를 제공하였다. 이 철학적 접근은 폴라니의 인식론에 의한 춤창작교육과의 의사소통에 있으며, 이를 통해 춤에 구체적인 움직임의 영향력을 행사하며 배움의 능력을 증진시키는 일이 될 것이다.
