The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a Summer Camp Program in the Science Education Center for Gifted Students at University. For this study, 48 middle school students, who were scientifically gifted or potentially gifted in science, were organized 3 class, 2 field according to their choice. Program was conducted for 2 nights and 3 days, total 25 hours. To examine the effects of a summer camp program, surveys on scientific attitude and scientific career orientation were conducted before and after camp. The research design was one group pretest-posttest design, the data were analyzed using the PASW 18 statistics program. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were no significant differences in the score of scientific attitude and science career orientation between before and after a summer camp program(p>.05). However, there were significant difference between pre-test and post-test in the scores of creativity, which was a sub-region of scientific attitude. Second, after analyzing the effects of a summer camp programs between the fields, the score of science career orientation in natural science field class showed significantly higher than in mathematical science field class(p <.05). Third, the effect of summer camp programs based on gender difference was not significant(p>.05). After camp, the satisfaction survey about summer camp program was conducted. Student Satisfaction survey results for summer camp programs, the recognition of students showed positive.

본 연구의 목적은 대학부설 과학영재교육원의 여름 캠프 프로그램의 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 연구 대상은 경기도 소재 중학교 과학영재 또는 잠재적 영재 학생이며 학생의 선택에 따라 3개의 반 으로 편성되었다. 프로그램은 2박 3일간 총 25시간 동안 진행되었다. 여름 캠프 프로그램의 효과를 알아보기 위해 프로그램 전후에 과학적 태도 및 과학 진로지향도 검사를 실시하였다. 사후에는 프로 그램에 대한 만족도 조사도 더불어 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학적 태도 및 과학 진로지향도 점수에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 그러나 과학적 태도 하 위영역인 ‘창의성’ 영역에서는 유의미한 향상이 나타났다(p<.05). 둘째, 분야에 따른 여름 캠프 프로 그램 효과의 차이를 분석한 결과 수리과학 분야에 비해 자연과학 분야에서 과학 진로지향도 점수가 유의미하게 높게 나타났다(p<.05). 셋째, 여름 캠프 프로그램의 효과는 성별에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 캠프 후 프로그램에 대한 만족도 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 프로그램에 대 한 학생들의 인식은 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다.
