National Police Academy is the center of police education. In 2012, the eight-month course term was established and education had been provided to develop the necessary capacity of new police trainees and cultivate their abilities required to serve the nation. However, there have been only few researches to find specific information, value system, and disposition of trainees subject to education. The author conducted a research on the Academy trainees' views on the state and occupation as well as social awareness in 2007 for the first time. This is the only research known in this area. In 2012, new trainees enrolled in the 272nd session provided their views on the state and police organizations as well as value system and disposition related to social areas for an analysis. This study explored their loyalty in terms of occupation. Police organizations involve more difficulties than any other administrative organizations. It is also a medium enabling direct encounters with the nation and providing immediate solutions to various problems. Most of the trainees said that they were motivated for self-realization and social services, making the future of police organizations bright. Police organizations will develop further when the curriculum changes anew with more future-oriented views, proper education is provided to talented trainees with good views on the state and value system, and these organizations provide support at every level of this process.

경찰교육의 중심부에 있는 중앙경찰학교는 2012년 교육기간이 8개월 과정으 로 변경되어 시행 중이다. 그 동안 신임 경찰교육생의 능력과 국민이 요구하는 능력을 키우기 위한 교육을 실시하였다. 그러나 교육을 받고 있는 경찰교육생에 대한 특별한 정보나 가치관,성향 등에 대한 조사는 거의 이루어지고 있지 않다. 유일하게 2007년도 필자가 중앙경찰학교의 교육생에 대한 국가관, 직업관, 사 회적 인식에 대한 조사가 처음으로 실시하였고, 2012년 신임 과정 제 272기 남·여 교육생들 대상으로 국가관,경찰조직, 사회분야에 대한 가치관과 성향에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 특히 직업관에 대한 충성도 부분을 조사하 였다.경찰조직은 다른 행정기관에 비하여 많은 어려움을 수반하는 직종이다. 국민과 직접 만나고,문제를 즉시 해결 하는 국민의 신문고이기도 하다.대부분 의 교육생이 자아실현과 사회봉사를 위해서 지원동기를 밝히고 있는 것에 대하 여 경찰조직의 미래는 매우 밝다고 생각이 든다. 미래를 멀리보고 교육과정을 새롭게 변화하고,휼륭한 재능과 올바른 국가관,가치관을 지닌 경찰교육생에 대한 올바른 교육을 실시하고, 경찰조직 단위에서 지원해 줄 때 경찰조직이 매 우 발전 할 것이라고 본다.
