This study examined the effect of self-differentiation on marital adjustment and coping with conflict in Christian couples. The purpose of this study was to explore marital adjustment and coping with conflict according to the level of self-differentiation. By exploring the difference of marital adjustment and coping with conflict according to the level of self-differentiation in Christian couples, this study aimed 1) to provide the effective Christian social work programs which are to improve the level of self-differentiation in Christian couples and thus, 2) to allow them to improve their ability of cope with marital discord. The study subjects were 184 couples residing in Jeonju and Wanju area. This study utilized the hierarchical linear regression model to examine the factors related to marital adjustment, marital discord, and coping behavior with conflict in couples. The results showed that women have the higher level of selfdifferentiation than men in the differentiation of personal relationship, emotional discontinuation, and triangulation. In addition, the results showed the significant differences in the factors of the level of education, an occupation and marriage duration on marital adjustment within couples. This study also found that the factors of spiritual differentiation, emotional discontinuation, triangulation of parent and triangulation of their own family were associated with marital adjustment and marital dissatisfaction.

본 연구는 크리스찬 부부들의 자아분화가 결혼적응 및 갈등대처 행동에 미치 는 영향을 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 기독교 신앙을 가진 부부들의 자아분화의 정도에 따라 결혼 적응과 갈등대처 행동을 바로 알고 이해하고 수용함으로서 부부간에 맞는 여러 가지 갈등행동을 잘 대처해 나갈 수 있도록 원조하고 자아 분화 수준을 향상시키기 위한 교회사회사업적 프로그램을 제안하기 위함이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구의 조사대상자는 전주 및 완주지역에 거주하는 부부 184명을 대상 으로 조사하였다. 분석방법은 각 독립변인들과 종속변인에 있어 부부간의 차 이를 알아보고자 평균값을 비교 하였으며, 자아분화에 따른 결혼적응, 결혼불 만 및 갈등대처 행동에 관련된 요인들을 알아보고자 위계적 선형회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 크리스찬 부부의 자아분화는 대인 관계적 분화, 정서적 단절, 삼각화 등에서 여자가 남자보다 자아분화가 높다는 사실과 결혼적응에 있어서 학력과 직업, 결혼 기간에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있음을 발견 하였다. 그리고 자아분화가 결혼적응 및 결혼 불만, 갈등대처 행동과에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 정신내적분화, 정서적 단절, 부모의 삼각화, 본인의 가족 삼각화 가 결혼적응 및 결혼 불만에 많은 영향을 미치고 있었다.
