This study conducted research selecting total nine points in spring and autumn to evaluate water quality by using the DAIpo index targeting the streams in Mt. Deogyu. Attached diatoms observed are total 50 kinds, and 11 to 23 kinds appear in May while 8 to 21 emerge during September. Regarding dominant species, in most of the investigated points, saproxenous taxa such as Achnanthes convergens, Cocconeis placentula var. lineata, Hannaea arcus, and Reimeria sinuata appeared; however, in Pahoe during September, Navicula minuscula of saprophilous taxa was dominant. Regarding the classification of ecological groups, the ratio of saproxenous taxa was 77.79 to 99.23% in May and was 22.09 to 99.28% in September, and it was the lowest in the point of Pahoe. The DAIpo index was 88.9 to 99.62 in May and was 24.4 to 99.64 in September, and it was the lowest in the point of Pahoe. The water quality was very good in all the investigated points in May and was very good, very good to good, and good to quite good in September, and it was the worst in the point of Pahoe (September).

본 연구는 덕유산 계류를 대상으로 유기오탁지수(DAIpo 지수)를 이용한 수질 평가를 위해 봄과 가을에 모두 9개의 정점을 선정하여 조사를 실시하였다. 조사된 부착규조류는 50종류였고, 5월은 11~23종류, 9월은 8~21종류가 출현하였다. 우점종은 대부분의 조사 지점이 Achnanthes convergens, Cocconeis placentula var. lineata, Hannaea arcus, Reimeria sinuata 등 호청수성 분류군(saproxenous taxa)이었으나 9월에 파회 지점은 호오탁성 분류군(saprophilous taxa)인 Navicula minuscula가 우점하였다. 생태군 분류에서 호청수성 분류군의 비율은 5월에77.79~99.23%, 9월은 22.09~99.28%였고 파회 지점에서 가장 낮았다. DAIpo 지수는 5월이 88.9~99.62, 9월은24.4~99.64로 파회 지점이 가장 낮았다. 수질등급은 5월에 전 조사 지점이 매우 좋음이었고, 9월은 매우 좋음, 매우 좋음~좋음 그리고 좋음~약간 좋음이었고, 파회(9월) 지점의 수질 등급이 가장 낮았다.
