In the situation of aged society, Christian churches need to execute pastoral counseling for the aged and their families. However, going beyond quantitative and material approaches to elderly problems, the church should be able to present new elderly counseling programs and pastoral visions. It is because aging is one of the most important issues not only to the country and society but also to Korean Churches and it should be solved with active alternatives. The growing population of adults over the age of 65 continues to outstrip our provision of services. Pastoral theology for the aged approach in the field of counseling and gain strength in various field. But there in no official report this applied in elderly counseling. This thesis endeavored to apply Pastoral theology for the aged approach to the elderly. Pastoral elderly program operators should carry out ministry in the ways of forming friendliness with elders, understanding their mind, and embracing them. Moreover, elders should be treated with knowledge and insight, and respected as whole persons rather than as beneficiaries of education or welfare. In this way, the churches should imbue elders with life and power so that they can lead their own life in a new spirit as creative and organic contributors.

한국교회는 고령화의 위기에 직면해있다. 한국사회와 교회가 당면한 고령화 문제는 일찍이 한국교회가 경험하지 못한 생소한 문제이다. 그러나 이러한 고령화는 급속히 한국사회와 한국교회에 심각한 문제가 되고 있으며 한국교회는 이 위기에 대해 나름대로의 피드백을 해야 할 처지에 놓여있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제에 대한 대안으로 노인상담과의 밀접한 상호연결 속에서의 노인목회상담을 제시 한다. 이제 한국교회는 급속한 노령화에 맞서 현실에 맞는 노인성도들을 위한 새로운 목회적 돌봄과 섬김의 패러다임이 절실히 필요하다. 교회의 영역에서 제공 할 수 있는 노인목회상담은 노인들에 대한 정서적, 심리적 이해와 그들이 처해있는 사회적, 문화적 이해가 요구된다. 이러한 노인이해를 전제로 노인들에게 돌봄의 서비스를 제공 할 수 있다. 노인목회상담은 한국교회의 고령화와 노인문제에 대한 적절한 돌봄의 체계를 형성하는데 도움을 줄 것이라는 점에서 앞으로의 학문적 발전과 이론적 토대의 성장을 기대해 본다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 한국교회의 고령화의 현실 속에서 하나의 대안이 될 수 있는 노인목회상담의 가능성과 그 의미와 이들의 필요성에 대해 논하고자 한다. 노인목회상담 이라는 모델을 통해 노인문제에 대한 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.
