Yeonsaillok is a kind of the travel literature (Yeonhaengrok). The author of this book is Kim, Jik-yeon (1811~1884). After he had travelled Beijing from October 26th in 1858 to March 20th in 1859, he recorded various personal experiences and a lot of information on China acquired during his journey. Now there remain two versions of this book: the Korean version and the Chinese version. This makes this book more valuable material, because a lot of Yeonhaengrok were recorded only in Chinese characters in Choseon Dynasty. In addition, the writing date of Korean version can be estimated very accurately, which is different from other manuscripts in Korean version. Based on these characteristics of this book, this paper has two aims as follows: (1) to introduce the Korean version compared with the Chinese version of this book, and (2) to review the characteristics of Korean language in the late 19th century found in Korean version of this book.

본고는 김직연(金直淵, 1811～1884)의 연행 기록인 『燕槎日錄』한글본을 중심으로 자료의 특징을 소개하고, 국어학적 측면에서 특징적인 사항들을 검토한 것이다. 이 자료에는 1858년 10월 26일부터 이듬해 3월 20일까지 연행 과정에서 저자가 보고 들은 것에 대한 기록과 그에 대한 저자의 평가가 담겨 있다. 이 자료는 한문본과 더불어 한글본이 함께 남아 있을 뿐만 아니라, 한글본의 연대가 비교적 명확하게 추정될 수 있기 때문에 국어사 자료로서 조명될 필요가 있다. 표기, 음운, 문법의 측면에서 19세기 후반의 언어를 반영하고 있는 이 자료는, 특히 다양한 어휘를 보여 준다는 점에서 주목되는 측면이 있다.
