Because the I-Ching and the study of I-Ching share the characteristics of basic science and overall science, there are various viewpoints of study in modern times to explain and re-interpretate the I-Ching as an old book. This tendency partly implies the characteristic as alternatives of conquering the limitations especially which the western modern science has. In this viewpoint, I would like to show ‘the tendency of research and further subjects in the I-Ching’ in this thesis. In the second chapter, I generally look over the stream of scholarly recognition about the I-Ching in contemporary Korea, and in the third chapter, I look into the tendency of the I-Ching science after our liberation. Also, in chapter 4, I examine the characteristic of study and the diversity of study field of the I-Ching and then in chapter 5, I draw a conclusion by referring the further subjects of the I-Ching study. In these days, beyond the boundary of each study, people try to make efforts to study the variety of study field such as the human science, natural science, or social science by linking to each other since the term, ‘cosilience’ which looks over the fundamental principle of human, society, and nature through the learning interchange and communication, comes across the topic of conversation. From this tendency, the I-Ching can be ‘the treasure house of cosilience’ which can totally approach the human science, social science, and natural science. It is true that the I-Ching is not all studies' alternatives. However, if we focus that the object of all studies is to embody the human's existence purpose and to maintain peace of human society, the boundaries that each people has can be understood naturally.

『주역』 그리고 『주역』에 관한 학문은 기초학문으로서의 특성과 종합학문으로서의 특성을 공유하고 있기 때문에, 현대에는 고전(古典)으로서의 『주역』을 현대학문의 관점에서 설명하고 재해석하려는 연구가 다양한 관점에서 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 경향은 특히 서구의 현대학문이 지니고 있는 한계성을 극복하고자 하는 대안으로서의 성격도 일부 지니고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 이 논문에서는 ‘주역학의 연구동향과 향후과제’를 살펴보고자 하였다. 제2장에서는 근현대 한국에 있어서 주역학에 대한 학문적 인식의 흐름을 개괄적으로 조망하고, 제3장에서는 해방 이후 주역연구의 동향을 살펴보았으며, 제4장에서는 『주역』의 학문적 성격과 연구분야의 다양성을 검토한 뒤 제5장에서 주역학 연구의 향후과제를 언급하면서 결론을 맺었다. 오늘날 각자의 학문이 가지고 있는 경계를 넘어 학문간 교류와 소통을 통하여 인간과 사회 및 자연의 근본적 원리를 살피고자 하는 ‘통섭(統攝, cosilience)’이라는 용어가 화두로 떠오르면서 인문과학과 자연과학 또는 사회과학의 다양한 학문영역이 서로 연계되어 연구하려는 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 경향에서 볼 때, 『주역』은 인문과학과 사회과학 그리고 자연과학이 종합적으로 접근될 수 있는 ‘통섭(統攝)의 보고(寶庫)’라고 할 수 있다. 『주역』이 모든 학문의 대안이 될 수 없는 것은 또한 사실이다. 그렇지만, 모든 학문의 목적이 인간의 존재목적을 구현하고 인류사회의 안녕을 위하는 것이라는 점에 초점을 맞춘다면, 저마다 지니고 있는 경계는 자연스럽게 소통 될 수 있을 것이다.
