This study investigates the relationship between multi-cultural family function and social abilities of children. The subject of this study conducted a survey of parents and children in multi-cultural at Y, H, G, J and A districts in J province. For this research, they conducted through teachers who visit multi-cultural family in family support centers. This study examined the 8, March to 30, May in 2011 for about 3 months, 219 questionnaires collected were used as subjects. To achieve the purpose of this study, Olson, Portner, and Laves, etc. in 1986 developed by the assessment tool, FACES Ⅲ (Family Adaptability Cohesion Evaluation Scale) and Kyung Hee Lee(1994) used modify the complement. In addition, to measure children's social skills, they used modified songnari (1993) questionnaire which Pease, Clark and Crase (1981) developed by the ISCS (Iowa Social Competence Scale) to the translation. The data which collected according to the research question family functioning and social competence for each subscale mean (M) and standard deviation (SD), and the ability of multi-cultural families and family functioning is analyzed the Pearson, the relation of product-moment correlation. Then, to investigate the effect of the family functioning and social skills, regression analysis were analyzed by SPSS WIN 17.0 program. The results are as follows: First, the level of family functioning of children in multi-cultural families, in order of family cohesion, family adaptability and family expression. And social competence are in order of social irritability, social stability, social leadership and social competence stars. Second, children in multi-cultural family's function and social abilities are showing the positive relationship. This means the more the family ability is higher, the more the social competence is high. Third, children of multi-cultural family's function is affected the social abilities.

본 연구는 다문화가정 아동의 가족기능과 사회적 능력과의 관계를 알아보고자 실시하였다.본 연 구의 연구대상은 J도 Y군,H군,G군,J군,A군지역의 다문화가정 부모와 아동을 대상으로 실시 하였으며,본 연구의 조사를 위해 다문화가정지원센터에서 다문화가정을 방문하는 교사들을 통해 조사하였다.본 연구의 조사는 2011년 3월 8일부터 5월30일까지 약 3개월 동안 수거한 219부를 최종 연구 대상으로 사용되었다.연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 1986년 Olson,Portner 및 Laves등에 의해 개발된 평가도구인 FACESⅢ(FamilyAdaptabilityCohesionEvaluation Scale)를 이경희(1994)가 수정 보완한 것을 사용하였다.또한,아동의 사회적 능력을 측정하기 위해 Pease,Clark과 Crase(1981)가 개발한 ISCS(IowaSocialCompetenceScale)를 번역․수 정한 송나리(1993)의 질문지를 사용하였다.수집된 자료는 연구문제에 따라 가족기능과 사회적 능 력 각각의 하위요인에 대한 평균(M)과 표준편차(SD),다문화 가정 아동의 가족기능과 사회적 능력은 Pearson 적률상관 관계를 분석하였다.그리고 가족기능이 사회적 능력이 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 회귀분 석을 SPSSWIN17.0프로그램을 통해 분석하였다.연구결과는 첫째,다문화가정 아동의 가족기능의 수준은 가족 결속력,가족 적응성,가족 표현력 순으로 높게 나타났으며,사회적 능력 수준은 사회적 과민성, 사회적 안정성,사회적 지도력,사회적 유능성순으로 나타났다.둘째,다문화가정 아동의 가족기능과 사회적 능력에서 정적 상관을 보이는 것으로 드러났다.이는 다문화 가정의 가족기능 수준이 높을 수록 사회 적 능력 수준이 높다는 것을 의미한다.셋째,다문화가정 아동의 가족기능이 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
