The cosmetics ingredient labeling system aims to secure consumers’ rights to be safe and access necessary information by labeling all cosmetics ingredient information on the cosmetics container and box. It has been pointed out that the purpose of this system has not been properly carried out since it was launched in 2008. Therefore, this study has determined consumer purchase behavior, consumer interest in cosmetics ingredients and cosmetics that cause side effects before investigating the current use of the cosmetics ingredient labeling system. In addition, this study has proposed a plan for improvement after examining whether or not the launching of the system is perceived, if the labeling and items are appropriate and if there are any problems in the labeling system. It is anticipated that the result of this study could be used as basic data for establishing a practical cosmetics ingredient labeling system.
