This dissertation is a study of the world of joys, sorrows, and romances in the 'Sa-Hang' poems of 'PaekJolJae Han-EungIn' who had been to China four times as a diplomat and 'DongAk Lee-AnNul' who had been to China two times as a diplomat of Chosun Daynasty. 'PaekJolJae's 'Sa-Hang' poems have his filial duty to his old mother, faithfulness to his King, nostalgia to his country, and tiredness from the long trips. They are a role model of 'Sa-Hang' poems. 'DongAk' composed 'Sa-Hang' poems like keeping a diary when he passed towns and countries. He put his joys and sorrows in them from his diplomat duty experiences. His poems are another role models of 'Sa-Hang' poems. There are romances and human loves in 'Sa-Hang' poems of 'PaekJolJae.' He described well romances among the diplomats and finally he became famous because of them. Especially he was good at describing psychology of women, and his poetic expressions were as good as them of Tang Dynasty's poems. Among 'DongAk's 'Sa-Hang' poems, there are only two poems about romances. He controlled and hid romantic feelings in his poems well. But they are seen in his poems to 'kisaeng' ‘Sul-Ah' and 'Kye-Rang.' ('Kisaeng' is girls of singing and dancing of the local governments and private employed.) This dissertation gives a chance to see, feel, and know joys, sorrows, and romances of 'Sa-Hang' poems of Chosun Dynasty. It contributes to understanding of the lives and experiences of diplomats of the Dynasty and the cultural exchange in East Asia before the Modern Age.

이 논문은 조선왕조 베테랑 외교관으로 4번이나 중국에 다녀온 百拙齋 韓應寅과, 2번 중국 사신으로 다녀온 東岳 李安訥의 使行詩에 내재된 애환과 로맨스의 세계를 연구한 것이다. 백졸재의 사행시에는 老母에 대한 효심, 임금에 대한 충성, 고향을 그리워하는 향수, 고단한 旅程 등을 다각적으로 형상화했다. 사행시의 롤 모델(Role model)이라고 할 수 있다. 동악은 사행시에서 마치 일기를 쓰듯이 지나는 곳마다 느낀 바를 시로 남겼다. 사신의 책무를 수행하는데 따른 모든 애환을 형상화했다. 그의 시 역시 사행시의 典範이라고 할 수 있다. 백졸재의 사행시에는 로맨스가 있고 인간애가 있다. 사행 중에 있었던 일행들의 로맨스는 결국 시인 백졸재의 명성을 높이는 데 기여했다. 특히 그는 여성의 심리묘사에 뛰어났고 絶句는 唐詩 와 같은 風格이 있다. 동악의 사행시에는 로맨스에 관련된 시는 단 2수뿐이다. 조선 詩壇의 高手였던 동악은 기생 雪娥와 桂娘에게 준 시에서, 과거의 로맨스를 행간에 숨겨놓아 알 길이 없게 했지만 애잔함과 여운이 있다. 역시 고수다운 솜씨가 아닐 수 없다. 이 논문으로 조선시대 사행시의 애환과 로맨스의 一斑을 보고(見), 느끼고(感), 알 수(知) 있다. 백졸재와 동악의 사행시에 내재된 애환과 로맨스는 근대 이전 동아시아 문화교류의 한 국면과 사신들의 애환과 사생활의 일부를 이해하는 기여가 있을 것이다.
