This thesis deals with the abortion issue especially focusing from the perspective of Feminism. The debate of abortion is the middle point between the moral status of fetus and autonomy rights of pregnant body. The asymmetry between anti-abortionist and pro-abortionists. In this context, abortion rights do not support a right to kill newborn babies. The problem of violence as in both American and Korean anti-abortionist movement makes the situation more complicated. The gap between the general cognition on the moral status of the fetus and inevitableness of the reality that forces women to choose abortion. Aborting a fetus is a life matter that must be taken seriously, and being a parent constitutes a flourishing human life. While there is no consensus on the moral acceptability of abortion, there is agreement that any answer to the question depends on one's view of what sort of entities fetuses are and whether such entities have rights. There two important issues generally are referred to as the ontological and moral status of the fetus. Within the gap, impregnant women have sought for public-common responsibility solutions. From the feminism perspective, this thesis suggests how we can draw any acceptable ethical decision such as pro-choice advocates to this limitation of choice embracing reverse objectification of pregnant body in modern society. But it is important public-common responsibility alternative between moral status of fetus and the right of pregnant body's autonomy.

임신중절의 문제는 태아의 도덕적 지위와 여성의 신체자율권이 충돌할 경우, 우선적 가치를 어느 쪽으로 두는가에 따라 도덕적 정당화의 방법의 차이를 나타낸다. 여성주의 관점은 임신중절 문제를 생명윤리 영역의 문제에서 벗어나 여성 삶의 현실이라는 사적 영역에 내재된 문제로서 본다. 이는 생명윤리 기조와 달리 여성 몸의 주체성을 찾으며, ‘역객관화’를 목표로 삼아 여성으로서 열린 주체를 형성하기 위한 여성운동과 맥을 같이한다. 이는 곧 여성의 사적 권리를 중시하고 여성의 권리를 신장시켜 여성이 신체자율권에 대해 권리를 인정받아야 함을 강조하는 입장이다. 임신중절의 문제는 사적 차원과 공적 차원을 함께 고려하는 생명의 공공성 문제이면서 또 다른 여러 요인들을 수반하여 발생하는 복합적인 사회문제이다. 무엇보다도 생명존중의 공적 차원을 수용하여 태아의 도덕적 지위를 인정하는 생명윤리와 맥락화용이 이루어지도록 임신중절 관련 정책을 입안할 필요가 있다. 임신중절을 선택할 수밖에 없다는 현실적 요소들을 주장하는 여성들에게 ‘처벌되지 않은 범죄자’의 덫을 피해주려는 사적 차원을 지나치게 강조하다 보면, 결국 태아의 도덕적 지위를 외면하게 되고 공공적 책임의 차원에서 생명경시의 사회적 모순을 낳게 된다. 여성의 성과 몸을 지배하였던 과거의 가부장적 횡포에 대해 여성의 권익을 옹호하려는 공공성 담론을 수용하며 여성의 주체성을 존중하려는 여성주의 관점을 수용하더라도 생명존중의 공공성 차원과 여성배려의 사적 차원을 상관 연동시켜 임신중절 문제를 공공적 책임차원에서 정립해야 할 것이다.
