The purpose of this article was to propose the desirable methods of anti-bias education based on social identity perspective in the domain of moral education. The first section of this article summarized the importance of anti-bias education in moral education. Anti-bias education in moral education is very effective in both self-renewal of moral agents and transformative social change. Then, I explored clear-cut explanations about social identity perspective in intergroup relations. The social identity perspective, comprising social identity theory and self-categorization theory, has played a leading role in research and practice on intergroup relations. It posits a basic intergroup schema with the following three characteristic features, namely the intergroup accentuation principle, the ingroup favoritism principle and the social competition principle. Based on the premises of social identity perspective, four alternative models for contacts effects have been developed and tested in experimental and field settings, namely decategorization, recategorization, cross-categorization, and mutual differentiation. Finally, I proposed desirable teaching methods for applying the previous four models to the domain of moral education.

최근 다문화라는 새로운 시대 조류에 휩싸인 한국 사회에서 각종 집단 간 편견과 차별 행위의 근절은 우리의 국격을 높이고, 인류평등주의에 입각한 인간다운 삶의 실현을 위해 매우 긴요한 과제이다. 반편견교육은 인종, 민족, 젠더, 종교, 장애 등에 근거한 편견에서 벗어나 모든 인간을 존중하려는 능력과 태도를 길러주는 교육을 의미한다. 이 논문의 목적은 사회 정체성 관점에 근거한 도덕과에서의 반편견교육 방법을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 도덕과에서 반편견교육의 중요성을 자아 혁신과 사회 변화의 측면에서 고찰하고, 집단 간 편견 형성 이론인 사회 정체성 관점의 주요 특징들을 살펴보았다. 끝으로 사회 정체성 관점이 제안하고 있는 네 가지 편견 감소 모델(탈범주화, 재범주화, 상호 분화, 교차 범주화)을 살펴보고, 이를 도덕과교육에 적용하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.
