This research is to study e-book application which is a new type of book together with the development of new media. In foreign countries, many of application business have already been actively progressed and also domestically, electronic book will be used in elementary schools since 2015. Even though in-depth research is required in Graphic Interface Design(called as GUI at below) of e-book applications, it is true that there are not sufficient progressing researches for e-book applications compared with those of electronic book. And therefore in this research, e-book applications were redefined and by investigating and collecting related reports and data, trend analysis though design trend investigation about GUI of e-book applications and design development and progress analysis for future values were executed. For this research, kinds and characteristics of e-book applications which are currently implemented in the environments of iPad which is mostly used as e-book application device were examined and especially, by dividing the environments of e-book applications into 4 areas and executing subsequent trend studies and investigations, future trends regarding GUI environments of e-book application are to be examined and related trends are tried to be forecasted.

본 연구는 뉴미디어의 발전과 함께, 새로운 책의 형태인 e-book 어플리케이션에 대해 연구해보고자 한다. 해외에서는 e-book 어플리케이션 사업이 활발히 진행되고 있으며, 국내에서도 2015년부터는 초등학교 교육 방법으로 전자책이 사용되는 것을 고려하여 e-book 어플리케이션의 Graphic Interface Design(이하 GUI)에 대한 깊은 연구가 필요하지만 전자책에 비해 e-book 어플리케이션에 대해선 아직 많은 연구가 진행되고 있지 않은 것이 사실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 e-book 어플리케이션에 대해 재정의하여 보고, 자료 조사 및 수집을 통하여 e-book 어플리케이션의 GUI에 대한 디자인 트랜드 조사를 통한 동향 분석 및 미래 가치를 위한 디자인 추이 분석을 하였다. 이 연구를 위하여 e-book 어플리케이션의 디바이스로 많이 사용되고 있는 아이패드 환경에서 현재 구현되고 있는 e-book 어플리케이션의 종류와 특징에 대해 조사하였으며, 특히 아이패드의 환경과 맞는 e-book 어플리케이션의 환경을 4가지로 나누어 트랜드 연구 및 조사를 통해 e-book 어플리케이션의 GUI 환경에 대한 동향을 알아보고 그 트랜드를 예측해 보고자 한다.
