We surveyed terrestrial mammal fauna in the royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty (Sareung, Jangneung, Yungneung and Geolleung) from July to september 2010. In the survey we found 10 mammal species. They belonged to eight families and five orders, which consist of Mogera robusta, Mustela sibirica, Nyctereutes procyonoides, Canis familialis, Felis catus, Sciurus vulgaris, Tamias sibiricus, Apodemus agrarius, Hydropotes inermis, and Lepus coreanus. Three species of Mogera robusta, Hydropotes inermis, Sciurus vulgaris and Tamias sibiricus were found in all survey area. Results of the survey showed that population density of Apodemus agrarius was highest in the Jangneung (0.65 individual per 100 m2).

본 연구는 2010년 7월부터 9월까지 조선왕릉 3개 지역(사릉, 장릉, 융·건릉)에 서식하고 있는 포유류의 현황을 조사하였다. 이번 조사 지역에 서식이 확인된 포유류는 두더지(Mogera robusta), 족제비(Mustela sibirica), 너구리(Nyctereutes procyonoides), 개(Canis familialis), 고양이(Felis catus), 청설모(Sciurus vulgaris), 다람쥐(Tamias sibiricus), 등줄쥐(Apodemus agrarius), 고라니(Hydropotes inermis), 멧토끼(Lepus coreanus)로 총 5목 8과 10종이다. 모든 조사지역에서 발견된 포유류는 다람쥐, 청설모, 두더지, 고라니 였다. 소형 포유류인 등줄쥐의 밀도는 장릉이 0.65개체로 가장 높았다.
