The total area of Seoraksan National Park is 398.5 km2 and it is divided among the areas of Inje-gun, Yangyang-gun, and Sokcho-si. Naeseorak(lnner) is in lnje, Namseorak(South) is the area from Hangyeryeong(Ridge) to Osaek, and Oeseorak(Outer) lines in the eastern area across Sokcho-si. Yangyang-gun, and Goseong- gun. Including its main peak, Daecheongbong, Seoraksan has a total of 30 imposing peaks spread across its territory such as Hwachaebong, Hangyeryeong, and Madeungryeong. Naeseorak(linner) got its nam from the fact that many rocks shaped likea thousand of Buddhas are formed in the valley from Biseondae(Cliff) to Daecheongbong(Peak). Along with the valley, there are lots of cliff and representative places such as Biseondae(Cliff), and so on. This research investigates the analysis for behavior of rockfall movement that the occurrence of an accident in the Cheonbulong valley Seoraksan National Park and it is effective measures that rockfall movement would be possible based on the monitoring and scientific survey results.

설악산국립공원은의 총면적 398.5 km2로 인제군과 고성군, 양양군과 속초시에 걸쳐 있는데 인제 방면의 내설악, 오색 방면의 남설악, 그리고 속초시와 양양군 및 고성군으로 이루어진 동쪽은 외설악이라고 부른다. 설악산은 주봉인 대청봉을 비롯하여 화채봉, 한계령, 마등령 등 30여개의 높은 산봉우리가 웅장하게 펼쳐져있다. 외설악의 비선대에서 대청봉에 오르는 계곡은 마치 천개의 불상이 꽉 들어차 있는 듯한 모습 때문에 천불동계곡이라 부른다. 계곡을 따라 급애가 잘 발달되어 있으며, 비선대 등 설악산의 대표명소가 많은 곳이다. 본 연구는 설악산국립공원천불동계곡 병풍교에서 발생된 낙석에 대한 현장조사 내용을 바탕으로 낙석에 대한 대책방안 등을 서술하였다.
