A faunistic study on the true spiders (Arachnida: Araneae) from Juwangsan National Park, located on the median Paikdudaegan in Korea was carried out for the Natural Resource Research of National Park. During the research, 127 species of 79 genera belonging to 26 families including 6 undetermined species and 10 Korean endemic species were identified from 805 adult spiders (325 males, 480 females). The dominant families were Araneidae (21 species, 17%), Linyphiidae (16 species, 13%), Theridiidae (15 species, 12%) and Salticidae (15 species, 12%). The composition of species of web-building spiders (74 species, 58%) was richer than that of wandering spiders (54 species, 42%). As for the species commonness (number of common species) with adjacent countries and biogeographical distribution were China and Japan(98 species, 77%), Russia (53 species, 42%), Taiwan(36 species, 28%), 8 Palaearctic species (6%), 4 Holarctic species (3%), 3 Oriental species (2%) and 3 Cosmopolitan species (2%). Also, the females of Arcuphantes juwangensis Seo, 2006were discovered from type locality.

백두대간 지맥인 낙동정맥의 중간에 위치한 주왕산국립공원에서 서식하는 진정거미류를 조사한 결과 총 26 과 79속127종(325 수컷, 457 암컷, 23 유주)이 분류 동정하였다. 종다양성 및 우점과는 왕거미과 21종(17%), 접시 거미과 16종(13%), 그리고 꼬마거미과와 깡충거미과가 각각 15종(12%) 순으로 조사되었다. 거미류의 길드형에서 주 행성 거미류는 12과37속 54종(전체 42%)이었고 정주성 거미류(web-building spiders)는 13과 46속 74종(전체 58%) 로 주행성 거미류(Wandering spiders)보다 20종이 더 많았다. 생태적인 분포에서 일본과 중국의 공통종이 각각 98종 (77%)으로 나타났으며 러시아 53종(42%), 대만 36종(28%), 구북계 8종(6%), 전북계 4종(3%), 동양종 3종(2%), 그 리고 전 세계 공통종이 3종(2%)로 분석되었다. 그 밖에 한국 고유종(endemic species) 10종(12.7%)과 주왕산에서 처 음으로 밝혀진 주왕나사접시거미(Arcuphantes juwangensis Seo, 2006)의 암수 다수가 확인되었다.
