- This study investigated some effective ways for teaching English reading to elementary school students. In order to accomplish this purpose, previous studies mainly done by graduate school students across the country were reviewed. Unlike some studies which have shown that elementary school students have lost interest in reading contents in their school textbooks, other studies have revealed that reading methods which interest students were effective. Primary school teachers have used various methods to teach reading effectively. It showed that primary school students accept reading methods which appeal to their interests. In order to enhance students' interest in reading, various methods and rich print environments should be available to both students and teachers.
