- The 'Minjung Sibo' newspaper was published in Korean from 1935-1936 during the time when Koreans were migrating to Osaka. In this study I make clear the social background surrounding the publication of the 'Minjung Sibo' and analyse the linguistic situation as observed therein. Economical factors significantly influenced the linguistic ability of children as there began to appear to be those who were good at Japanese and those who were not. In the case of adults there were those who couldn't speak any Japanese and those who were very good at it. Since the level of Japanese ability amongst elderly people was remarkably low, they were not able to converse just in Japanese and so there were those who spoke a mixture of Korean and Japanese.
