This study is to examine the relationship between the childhood experience and adulthood lifestyle in terms of cultural participation. The result of this study shows the more cultural experience people had in their childhood the higher chances they continue to participate in current cultural activities. The statistical analysis also reveals three types of cultural experiences (learning, appreciation, and direct experience) have a significantly different impact on each of four current cultural activities (exchange activities, appreciation activities, learning activities, and direct activities). The learning and direct experience in individuals' childhood significantly affect the current exchange activities. The childhood appreciation activities only have a significant impact on the current direct activities whereas the current direct activities affect both current appreciation as well as learning activities. Interestingly, the childhood direct experience shows a significant impact on all four types of cultural activities.

본 연구는 유년기에 경험한 문화활동 유형이 성인이 된 후 문화활동 참여와 유형에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하고 자 하였다. 연구결과 유년기 문화활동에 대한 경험이 많을수록 현재 문화활동을 많이 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 유 년기의 학습, 감상, 직접경험이 현재의 문화활동에 영향을 미치는가에 대한 회귀분석에서 유년기 문화 경험 유형 은 현재 문화활동 유형에 각각 다르게 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 현재의 교류활동에는 유년기의 학습과 직접경험이, 감상활동에는 직접경험이, 학습활동에는 직접경험이, 직접활동에는 감상활동이 각각 유의미 한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 유년기의 직접경험은 현재 문화활동 유형 모두에 높은 설명력을 나타냈다.
