This study analyzed efficiency of operating offices of the regional fisheries cooperatives using DEA. The analysis target is 410 operating offices of the regional fisheries cooperatives of year 2010. Input variables are the number of people and the net area. output variables are deposit, loans, and earnings. DEA was applied to analyze technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of operating offices. As a result of analysis, Seoul has the highest technical efficiency and Jeonnam has the lowest technical efficiency. Gangwondo has the highest pure technical efficiency and Jeonnam has the lowest pure technical efficiency. Seoul has the highest scale efficiency and Jeonnam has the lowest scale efficiency. Seoul has many efficient operating offices, Gyeongin and Jeonnam have many inefficient operating offices. Inefficiency of operating offices was evaluated with technique and scale. Jeonnam has many inefficient operating offices caused by technique. Jeju has many inefficient operating offices caused by scale. Seoul has the largest number of operating offices with constant returns to scale(CRS). Gyeongin and Jeonnam have many operating offices with increasing returns to scale(IRS). Busan and Jeonbuk have many operating offices with decreasing returns to scale(DRS). Considerable numbers of the regional fisheries cooperatives are inefficiently operated, and readjustment of the number of workers and the net area is required to improve efficiency

본 연구는 DEA를 활용하여 수협 상호금융 영업점의 효율성을 광역시도별로 분석한 것이다. 분석대상은 2010년 전국 수협 상호금융 영업점 410개이다. 투입변수는 상호금융영업점의 인원과 전용면적이며, 산출변수는 예탁금과 대출금, 손익이며 “상호금융점포심사분석보고서”를 바탕으로 한다. 상호금융 영업점의 효율성 분석은 DEA를 적용하여 기술효율성 및 순 기술효율성, 규모효율성을 분석하였다. 규모의 경제 분석을 위해 순 기술효율성과 규모효율성을 비교하였다. 분석결과, 기술효율성은 서울이 가장 높고 전남이 가장 낮다. 순 기술효율성은 강원도가 가장 높고 전남이 가장 낮다. 규모효율성은 서울이 가장 높고 전남이 가장 낮다. 효율적인 영업점의 수는 서울이 많고, 비효율적인 영업점은 경인과 전남이 많다. 영업점의 비효율성 원인을 기술과 규모로 파악하였으며 기술이 비효율의 원인인 영업점은 전남이 많다. 규모가 비효율의 원인인 영업점은 제주가 많다. 규모의 수익이 일정한 상태의 영업점이 가장 많은 지역은 서울이며, 경인과 전남은 규모의 수익이 증가하는 특성을 지닌 영업점이 많다. 부산과 전북은 규모의 수익이 감소하는 특성을 지닌 영업점이 많다. 상호금융 영업점은 지역에 관계없이 상당수가 비효율적으로 운영되고 있으며 효율성을 높이기 위해서는 인원과 전용면적에 대한 재조정이 필요하다.
