The purpose of this study is to introduce a CoP reward allocation (COREA) system that optimally allocates financial rewards for promoting knowledge sharing activities in CoPs. We present a prototype of the COREA system based on an established mathematical model and a heuristic algorithm. To test the validity and usefulness of the COREA system, we simulate various CoP reward scenarios. In particular, we consider two different organizational knowledge sharing cultures: mature and immature. Our experimental results confirm that the COREA system performs significantly better than the currently available reward system over various scenarios.
