High-Pressure small steam sterilizers(sterilizer, moist heat) was widely used for infection control of microorganisms in medical institution. To ensure safety and performance of high-Pressure small steam sterilizers, capacity of chamber under 60 L, was important for hospital infection control. Among these steam sterilizers, performance test is more important to secure sterilizing ability for medical equipments. In this study, to develop performance test methods of high-Pressure steam sterilizers-small size (B type, N type and S type), were examined the following international standards ; KS P 6130 Table-top steam sterilizers, JIS T 7324 2005 : High-Pressure steam sterilizers for medical use(Small size), EN 13060 : 2004 + A1 : 2009 Small steam sterilizers, KS P 6131 Hospital steam sterilizers, JIS T 7322 : 2005 High-Pressure steam sterilizers for medical use. When considering KFDA's medical device classification and scope, the new main performance test methods that was developed for high pressure small steam sterilizers based on the EN 13060. Therefore, it can be applied to evaluate type B, type N and type S small steam sterilizer's performance in technical file. It can also improve the quality assurance of high-pressure steam sterilizers and increase the international competitive power of domestic product.

고압증기멸균기는 치과용구, 수술용품 등의 세균 감염방지를 위해 병원 등에서 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 의료기기로서 다수 사용에 의한 교차감염 예방을 위해 포화증기를 이용하여 제품을 멸균하는 기구이다. 그 중 소용량고압 증기멸균기는 멸균모듈을 수용할 수 없고 챔버용량이 60 L이하인 기구로 멸균성능을 확보하기 위해서는 기기 자체의 성능을 확보하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 국제규격 등과 비교분석을 통해 소용량 고압증기멸균기의 성능 확보를 위해서는 공기누출시험, 동력챔버시험, 빈챔버시험, 고형로드시험, 중공로드A시험, 멸균물품시험, 건조시험이 요구되어지며 이를 성능평가 항목으로 제안하였다.
