Death means life, so thoughts of death are equal to thoughts of life. This premise comprises the important part of bioethics education. Death, which was the sole discretion of God, has become the dispute of possibility of human's choice. This study suggests possible improvements for awareness of euthanasia which is one of the subject in bioethics education through analyzing moral textbook in the 2009 national curriculum. The subject, euthanasia in the textbook of 2009 national curriculum will be analyzed by the following criteria: Clarity of the objective, suitability of the contents, validity of the composition, accuracy and fairness of the contents, and suitability of a developmental stage. On the basis of this analysis, this study suggests several ideas and policies for desirable direction of euthanasia education. In conclusion, it is essential to aware the importance of euthanasia in bioethics education and this study of analyzing the subject in moral textbook in 2009 national curriculum can contribute to develop and apply the authorized textbook and eventually lead to better education.

인간에게 있어서 죽음의 문제는 곧 삶의 문제이다. 이것은 생명윤리교육으로서 중요한 부분이다. 신의 고유 영역이었던 죽음의 문제가 인간의 선택 가능성에 대한 논쟁이 되기 시작한 것으로, 이 문제는 도덕교육과의 관련성이 깊고 생명윤리교육으로서 유의미하다. 본 논문은 생명윤리교육의 주제 중 하나인 안락사 문제에 대하여 2009 개정 교육과정 도덕과 교과서를 분석하여 개선 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 생명윤리교육에 대한 주요 내용을 다룬 고등학교 선택과목인 『생활과 윤리』교과서를 목표의 명료성, 내용의 적합성, 구성의 타당성, 내용의 정확성 및 공정성, 발달 단계의 적합성을 기준으로 분석하였고 이를 토대로 안락사 교육 내용에 대한 제언과 안락사 교육 정책에 대한 제언을 하고자 한다. 생명윤리교육에서의 안락사 교육의 중요성을 확인하고, 2009 개정 교육과정 도덕과 교과서 분석을 통해 검정교과서 체제에서의 교과서 개발 및 활용에 기여하여 보다 발전적인 도덕교육이 이루어지길 기대해본다.
