This paper amis to analyze color trends using the selected 825 images from 950 CD cover image collection (from January, 2000 to September, 2011) according to Korean pop music genre by the times. It is divided with four kinds of genre which includes: dance, rock, rap and hip hop, and ballads in order to identify the extraction and analysis of the dominant color. In the extraction and analysis of dominant color, we extract and analyze the dominant color which is used in more than 5% in each album cover using KSCA(Korea standard color analysis) program. And extracted dominant color in four color code zone and 23 of middle classification by Haruyoshi color classification. Also this study investigated the frequency of the use of color dividing the year of release in 2000 to 2003, 2004 to 2007 and 2008 to 2011.

본 연구는 2000년 1월부터 2011년 9월까지 발매된 한국 대중음악 씨디 커버를 대상으로 수집된 950종 중 825종의 이미지를 선별하여 댄스, 락, 랩&힙합, 발라드의 4가지 장르별로 구분지어 시대별 색상 분석 결과를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 주조색의 추출과 분석에는 KSCA(korea standard color analysis) 프로그램을 사용하여 각각의 앨범 자켓에서 5%이상 사용된 주조색을 추출, 분석하였고 추출된 주조색의 알지비(RGB) 값을 하루요시 나구모(南雲治嘉)의 색상분류 4가지 존과 23가지 중분류에 매칭시켜 빈도수를 정리하였다. 또한 발매년도를 2000년에서 2003년, 2004년에서 2007년, 2008년에서 2011년으로 나누어 시대별 색상 사용 빈도와 특징에 대하여 알아보았다.
