In Osamu Dazai's work, many quotations from Bible attract people's attention. Why did Dazai quote many parables from the Bible? To investigate this, 'Dazai Osamu and Christianity' had been studied continuously. Such that, Christianity is the fundamental keyword for understanding Dazai's literature. Dazai met the Bible thru interacting with a unique Christian organization such as 'nonchurch activists.' Dazai's guilt for his unfaithful, twists and turns of stormy past might be part of their motives. In the meantime, his hypocritical behavior, anxiety, fear and etc. had been turned into a commitment of changed appearance, behavior and mind thru the character of Christ. He heard surprising words which had never been told from the Bible and realized the unexpected wonderful world thru it. So, Dazai quoted words from the Bible in order to apply the learned truth from the Bible into his works and wanted to convey the messages of truth to the readers. Therefore, the Bible was studied focusing on the consideration of the messages. Whether Dazai read the Bible in the gospel or in the commandments is unimportant. In addition, whether his real life was truly sincere or not is not an issue to argue about. Dazai thought the reality he couldn't practice in his life was identical to the other people facing. Therefore, Dazai wanted leave his work quoting Christ in order to confession of himself as a confession of faith and leave a trail of Christ. Dazai thought Christ was his mentor, and tried to run toward the mark of Christ. Hence, Tsukamoto torajiui's 'Bible knowledge' magazine which had lead Dazai to the Bible will remain as a task which would require more thorough research.
