This study focuses on the importance of global strategy process as international business process, which mediates between resource and international growth. In addition, this study deals with the moderating effect of the domestic market prospects between the global strategy process and international growth. To verify the hypotheses, this study uses highly export-oriented Korean firms that are listed on the Korean stock market. Using hierarchical and multiple linear regression analyses, the results obtained are as follows. The global strategy process shows positive effects on international growth. Furthermore, the global strategic selection process and the global strategic transformation process have mediating effects between resource and international growth. The domestic market prospects show negative moderating effects between global strategy process and international growth. This study ascertains the importance of the global strategy process for international growth and complements the limitations of a resource-based view. This perspective can provide scholars and managers with a better understanding of international growth and strategy.

본 연구는 국제화를 일련의 프로세스로 간주하는 글로벌 전략프로세스의 중요성에 초점을 두었다. 특히 기업의 자원과 국제적 성장 사이의 관계를 설명하는 ‘글로벌 전략프로세스의 매개효과’와 글로벌 전략프로세스와 국제적 성장 사이의 관계에 있어서 ‘시장전망의 조절효과’를 중심으로 가설을 도출하였다. 가설검증을 위해 상장 및 등록된 한국 제조기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 글로벌 전략적 선택 및 전략적 변형 프로세스로 세분할 수 있는 글로벌 전략프로세스는 국제적 성장에 양의 통계적 유의성을 나타냈으며, 글로벌 전략적 선택 및 전략적 변형 프로세스는 자원과 기업의 국제적 성장사이의 관계에서 부분적 매개효과를 보였다. 또한, 글로벌 전략프로세스와 국제적 성장사이의 관계에서 국내 시장전망의 음의 조절효과도 관찰되었다. 본 연구는 기존의 자원기반관점을 토대로 글로벌 전략프로세스와 시장전망을 포함하는 통합 모델을 만들고, 이를 통해 기업의 국제적 성장을 설명하였다. 특히, 프로세스 개념을 도입하여 자원과 핵심역량을 포괄하는 자원기반관점을 보완하였으며, 기업의 국제적 성장에 있어서 글로벌 전략프로세스의 중요성을 강조하였다.
