This study aims at introducing type and concept of the addiction crime and showing
the problems of the present solutions and providing the base in making the new paradigm of the addiction crime.
There are most probations of individual law to all kinds of the addiction crime(drus,
alcohol, gambling, sex, internet etc.). And these probations are implemented in law or social point of view. However, above solutions have problems because the general crimes are worked out focusing the action of the crime but the addiction crime has the special character and is coped with pointing the actor of the crime.
To overcome above problems, we have to establish the academic base besides the law or sociology, especially, the natural science and medical science. Namely, the addiction crime are not needed past criminal solutions but all kinds of scientific points of solutions.

이 연구는 중독범죄의 유형과 개념을 밝히고, 현 대응체제의 문제점을 지적하여 중독범죄에 대한 새로운 패러다임을 형성하는데 기초를 제공하려 함에 그 목적이 있다.
각종의 중독범죄(마약류, 알코올, 도박, 성, 인터넷 등)에 대하여는 개별 법률에 의한 보안처분이 그 주를 이루고 있는 실정인데, 이러한 보안처분은 주로 법학 또는 사회학적 관점에 의하여 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 일반범죄가 범죄‘행위’에 중점을 두고 대응하는 것과 달리 각종의 중독범죄는 중독범죄만이 갖는 특성이 있고, 범죄‘행위자’에 중점을 두고 대응을 하여야 하기 때문에 단순히 법학 또는 사회학적 관점에 의한 보안처분만으로는 그 한계가 나타날 수밖에 없다.
이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해서는 법학 또는 사회학 이외의 학문적 기반을 확보하여야하며, 특히 자연과학과 의학 분야의 학문적 기반을 확보하여야 할 것이다. 즉 중독범죄에 대한 대응은 기존의 형법적 관점에서 형벌을 통한 범죄대응과 달리 종합 과학적 관점에서 접근을 요구하고 있다.
