This study is intended to validate the consisting factor of students' satisfactions for their department professors' performance and analyze the effects of the factors on the students' academic achievements. The study sample is randomly selected 607 students who answered for the questionnaire of students' satisfactions for their department professors' performance. There are two study questions: First question is to find validity of the consisting factors of students' satisfactions for their department professors' performance. Second question is to analyze the structural relationship between students' satisfactions for their department professors' performance and students' academic achievements. Confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis were used to analyze the study questions. In result, first it is validated that students' satisfaction for department professors' performance are consisted of three factors including a major field of study, professor-student relationship, students life guidance. Secondly, students' satisfaction for professors' performance for a major field of study is directly related to students' academic achievements. Thirdly, student-professor relationship satisfaction and students life guidance satisfaction are indirectly related to students' academic performance having mediating factor of a major field of study satisfaction. Finally professor-student relationship satisfaction has more influence on students' academic achievements than students life guidance satisfaction. The study findings indicate that students' satisfaction for department professors' performance of a major field of study shouldn't be less emphasized for students' academic achievements and successful school adjustment. Further the study findings indicates that there should be other aspects of students' satisfactions for professors' performance and needs to be explored in further studies.

본 연구는 학과교수의 만족도를 구성하고 있는 하위요인을 밝히고, 그러한 요인들이 대학생의 학업성취도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째 대학생들의 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 학과교수에 대한 만족도는 어떻게 구성되는가? 둘째, 구성된 학과교수 만족도 변인은 학업성취도에 영향을 미치고 있는가? 본 연구를 위해 대학생 607명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였으며, 통계방법으로는 확인적 요인분석, 경로분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 학과교수 만족도 구성요인으로 전공수업, 교수-학생 관계, 학생생활 지도로 3개의 구성요인들을 확인하였다. 둘째, 학과교수 만족도 구성요인 중에서 전공수업 만족도는 학업성취도에 직접적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 이러한 결과는 대학교수의 전공영역 전문성이 가장 중요하다는 것을 단적으로 보여주는 것이었다. 하지만 그 설명력은 약 3%로 크지 않았다. 셋째, 교수-학생 관계 만족도와 학생생활 지도 만족도는 전공수업 만족도를 매개로 하여 학업성취도에 간접적인 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 교수-학생 관계 만족도가 학생생활 지도 만족도보다 학업성취도에 대한 간접효과가 더 높았다. 이러한 연구결과는 학생들의 학업성취도와 성공적인 학교 생활적응에 있어서 학과교수의 전공수업 만족도가 강조되어야 함을 보여주고 있으며, 이는 성공적인 대학생활을 위하여 학과교수의 어떠한 역할이 보다 강조되어야 하는지 알 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 연구의 결과는 대학생들의 학업성취도를 설명하는 다양한 변인이 있음을 보여주고 있는데, 후속연구에서는 이에 대한 연구가 필요하다.
