This study begins with recognition of problems of Korean language education in Uzbekistan and that textbooks can be its solution. In this sense, this study aims to examine the problems of textbooks developed in Uzbekistan and suggest improvement methods.
The result of analyzing textbooks suggested that although there was some difference in textbooks, written functions such as reading and writing was given greater weight in material and activity types than verbal functions such as listening and speaking. While writing dealt with various kinds of materials and activity, other areas were limited to three or four kinds.
Based on problems found in the analysis of textbooks and the situation of Korean language education in Uzbekistan, internal problems and external problems of textbooks were divided and their improvement methods were suggested. For the internal problems of textbook, 1) listening activity should be reinforced, 2) exercise activity should be diversified, 3) exercise activity should be arranged to increase writing ability, and 4) practical use should be enhanced in grammar texts. For the external problems of textbooks, the needs to develop and supply auxiliary textbooks, the needs of teacher’s guide, and improvement of form and supply of textbook were suggested.
This study is significant that it found problems through the analysis of materials by area and activity types appearing in exercise activity and suggested improvement methods for structure and development of textbooks.
However, it also has imitation that its textbook analysis was only limited to exercise activity. Further research should be conducted to examine more practical methods to use and improve textbooks currently and develop new textbooks.

한국어

본고는 우즈베키스탄의 한국어 교육의 문제점들을 인식하고, 교재가 그 문제 해결의 방안이 될 수 있다고 여긴 것에서 출발한다. 이에 따라 현재 우즈베키스탄에서 개발된 교재의 분석을 통해 교재의 문제점을 살펴보고 그 개선방안을 제시하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 하고 있다.
연습 활동 내에 나타난 각 영역별 자료와 활동 유형 분석을 통해 문제점을 찾고, 교재의 구성과 개발에 있어서의 개선 방안을 제안하였다는 것에 의의를 갖는다할 수 있으나 연습 활동으로만 제한을 둔 것에 문제점을 발견하였다. 현재 개발되어 있는 교재를 사용함에 있어 보다 현실적인 사용방안과 개선, 개발방안을 연구하는 등의 문제는 후속 연구 과제로 남기는 바이다.
