The totality of all the phenomena occurring on the baduk (go) board during a game can be called the baduk universe. This paper investigates the characteristics of space and time of the baduk universe. The space of the baduk universe consists of discrete points, which are connected to four neighboring points, and it has boundaries. This paper considers the possibility of playing the baduk game in the space with different characteristics from the characteristics of the current baduk board. First, we show that baduk can be played on a board drawn on a torus as well as a board drawn on a sphere. In these cases, the space of the baduk universe has no boundaries. Second, we show that baduk can be played on a board consisting of points connected to three neighbors, five neighbors, or six neighbors. The game of baduk can be played on such boards with different characteristics, without changing the rules of the current baduk game. This study extends the concept of the baduk game, making it more interesting.

바둑 대국 중에 반상에 일어나는 모든 현상을 통칭해서 바둑 우주라고 부를 수 있다. 이러한 바둑 우주의 시간과 공간의 특성을 고찰한다. 현행 바둑 우주의 공간에는 경계(끝)가 있고, 공간은 단속적인 점들로 이루어졌는데, 경계선에 있는 점을 제외한 각 점들이 네 개의 이웃과 연결되어 있다. 현행 바둑 우주 공간의 특성 중에서 경계가 있다는 것을 변형시켜서 경계가 없는 토러스 바둑과 구면 바둑의 가능성과 특징들을 고찰한다. 또 바둑 공간을 이루는 각 점들이 세개, 다섯 개, 여섯 개의 이웃과 연결된 바둑의 가능성과 특징들을 고찰한다. 이러한 연구를 통해서 현재의 바둑 룰을 바꾸지 않고도 다양한 형태의 공간적 특성을 가진 바둑면에서 바둑을 즐길 수 있음을 발견한다. 이 연구는 바둑 경기의 개념의 외연을 확장하여 바둑 경기를 더 흥미롭게 만든다.
