This study aims to examine the effects of health promotion of the Elderly Employment Promotion Projects which has been executed since 2004. Data comes from the third and fourth wave of Korea Welfare Panel Survey(2008 and 2009) and the samples of this study are 4,020 elderly people aged over 60. To address the issue of selection bias, we employ propensity score matching analysis. We find that compared to the older who did not attend the Elderly Employment Promotion Projects, the older who did attend the Elderly Employment Promotion Projects are less likely to spend medical costs, but there are not significant differences on the self-reported health conditions and the depression between two groups. Based on these findings, the study has discussed some policy and practical implications to improve the effects of the Elderly Employment Promotion Projects.

본 연구는 2004년부터 실시해 온 노인일자리사업이 보충적 소득보장과 사회참여 이외에 노인의 신체적․정신적 건강 증진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 규명하여 노인의 건강을 중심으로 노인일자리사업의 효과성을 평가하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 만 60세 이상 노인 4,020명이며, 2008년도와 2009년도 한국복지패널 자료를 활용하였다. 분석방법으로는 정책 및 프로그램 효과성 평가에 적합한 Propensity Score Matching 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 노인일자리사업은 노인의 보건의료비 지출 감소에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 주관적 건강상태나 정신건강 측면에서 노인일자리참여 노인과 비참여노인간의 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 노인일자리사업의 효과성 증진을 위한 정책적 및 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.
