Grammar and culture teaching in Brazilian Portuguese textbooks for Korean learners: “Bom dia Brasil(2010) & Português brasileiro da EBS FM(2009)”
This paper has its aims to make the analysis of Brazilian Portuguese textbooks for Korean learners, “Bom dia Brasil(2010) & Português brasileiro da EBS FM(2009)” focusing on the grammar and culture teaching. In foreign language learning, being exposed to a good teaching material is as important as learning from capable teachers. It is necessary to know if the vision of the Brazilian culture in the textbook has intention of awaking intercultural conscience of students. Perfect books do not exist as we can see in the analysis of the book. An analysis of the textbook in relation to the target language and culture can help in the construction of an intercultural conscience by students. The choice of teaching materials of foreign language is very important for teachers. Therefore, it is necessary to observe if the objectives of the book are coherent.
