Korean educational system faces many challenges and crises, for example, the acceleration of globalization, information communication technology, change of labour market, the declining birth rate and aged society, etc. In order to cope with these social and economical challenges effectively and develop the international compatability and quality of Korean education, Korean government needs to have a future educational vision or policies to procure and cultivate talented personnel with professionalism and creativity.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the future education visions of Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom in terms of equity, excellence, appropriateness, efficiency. For that purpose, We made a comparative study on the future education visions of Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom. In addition, this study suggests implications on future education vision, education reform and policies in Korea. Based on the comparative study of the three advanced countries, the common things of the visions they plan and implement are the development and improvement of the quality of educational programs, excellence in teaching and learning, accountability, equal access, social relevance, financial support, faculty development etc.
From this research, we get some hints for development of korean future education vision. We need the additional policy to resolve the educational opportunity gap and satisfy the consumer's future educational demands. we also need to increase the quality and social relevance of education programs and aggressive investment is suggested.

본 연구는 최근에 수립된 교육선진국의 교육비전 사례들을 형평성, 효율성, 수월성, 적합성 측면에서 비교·분석하고 이를 토대로 우리나라 미래 교육비전 및 교육개혁 방안 수립을 위한 정책적 시사점을 얻는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 영국, 호주, 일본의 교육비전 사례들을 추진 배경, 초·중등교육 비전, 고등교육 비전으로 구분하여 비교·분석한후 각국이 공통적으로 추구하고 있는 정책비전이 무엇인가를 살펴보고 우리나라 교육비전 수립 및 교육개혁 방안 구안에 주는 시사점을 도출하였다.
영국, 호주, 일본의 교육비전 및 교육개혁 방안들을 비교·분석한 결과, 교육경쟁력 강화를 위해 각국이 공통적으로 추구하고 있는 정책비전은 교육기회 확대를 통한 형평성 제고, 교육재정 지원 확대 및 경쟁 시스템 도입을 통한 효율성 강화, 교육의 사회적 적합성 제고 그리고 교원들의 교수학습능력개발을 통한 수월성 제고 등이다. 따라서 우리나라가 21세기 세계화, 정보화로 인한 급속한 환경변화에 잘 대응하고 국가경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 소외계층에 대한 균등한 교육기회 제공, 교육에 대한 재정투자 확대 및 경쟁 시스템 도입, 사회 및 직업세계에 적합한 교육시스템 구축, 교원들의 교육전문성 신장을 통한 교육의 질 제고라는 측면에서 교육비전을 수립하고 이의 실천을 위한 구체적 정책과제들을 강구할 것을 제안한다.
