This study aims to look into contents of improving Korea's Self-university evaluation report and adjusting its direction of report. Self-university evaluation has been introduced for autonomous quality and reinforcement of responsibility since 2009. Universities have comprehensively analyzed and evaluated overall school operations including education, research, organization and facility more than 1 time in 2 years according to Higher Education Act, and the results were followed. To achieve this goal, 228 self-university evaluation reports were selected and analyzed by evaluation input, evaluation process, evaluation out according to the system scheme. In general, Self-university evaluation is performed by selecting the area of evaluation to fit the objective of evaluation, then the evaluation items depending on the importance of performing university function is implemented by allocation. In this process, it is evaluated based on the index which conceptualized what the evaluation item means and what contents it has. (1) Assignment related to capture and development of supporting personnel who will take charge of evaluation, (2) Assignment related to promotion of member's understanding on Self-university evaluation. (3) Assignment to evaluate universities properly with different features, utilizing various criteria, (4) Assignment related to disclosure scope of evaluation results. (5) Assignment to technically adjust the written evaluation and university index for each year, (6) Assignment related to realization of differentiating university evaluation criteria (7) Assignment related to utilization of evaluation result.

본 연구는 대학자체평가보고서의 내용을 체제적인 관점에서 분석하고, 향후 대학자체평가에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 보고서 분석은 2009년도에 대학자체평가 실시 대상 대학 260개교 중에서 228개교를 대상으로 했다. 자체평가의 내용 분석 결과를 제시하면 첫째, 대학 자체평가는 평가 목적 설정과 이에 대한 추진 방향을 정확하게 인식하지 못하고 실시되었다. 둘째, 대학마다 평가체제가 상이한 차이를 보이고 있었다. 셋째, 대학 전체 차원에서 평가가 이루어지고 세분화되지 못하였다. 넷째, 평가지표에 정보공시 항목이 제대로 반영되지 않았다. 다섯째, 목표치 설정은 비교적 달성가능한 수준에서 제시되었다. 여섯째, 평가결과에 대한 피드백이 명확하게 이루어지지 않았다. 앞으로 대학자체평가를 위한 업무를 체제적 관점에서 시사점을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 투입차원에서 대학자체평가에 대한 정확한 이해와 평가에 대한 전문성을 향상시켜야 한다. 둘째, 과정차원에서 대학은 자신의 대학 특성에 맞는 대학자체평가의 모형을 자체적으로 개발하고, 이에 따른 대학자체평가가 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 산출차원에서 평가결과의 제시는 대학자체 평가의 결과 활용 측면에서 종합적으로 접근이 이루어져야 한다. 마지막으로 대학교육협의회는 대학자체평가가 제대로 정착될 수 있도록 대학자체평가의 지원 기능을 분명히 할 필요가 있다.
