This study was focused on development of various designs such as nail art tips, pedicure art tips and accessory earrings that can be performed in a short time using artificial nails. The study was conducted to maximize artistic value of nail art and for nailists to break away from simple care and coloring treatments. As the method, ornamentalist aspects and symbolic meanings of Gustav Klimt’s painting patterns were analyzed and applied to nail art design. Results of this study are as follows. First, the literature on nail art was studied to understand the concept of nail art and investigate the prospect, numerous expressive techniques and transition process of nail art. Second, various designs were analogized from household items that appear in Klimt’s paintings through childhood background of Klimt, techniques of the times and artistic characteristics of his works. Third, ornamental patterns of Klimt’s paintings like plant and animal motif were applied with symbolic patterns like circle, triangle and quadrilateral to create harmony with nail art objects. Nail art tips, pedicure tips and earrings were made using two-dimensional art techniques such as hand painting, U.V gel and crack art, and three-dimensional art techniques such as jewelry art and deco nail art.
