This study aims at not only improving the students’ basic musical competences, but also at helping them develop the ability to express themselves in creative ways and the ability to think so that they can grow up in a musical sense, and aims at encouraging them to enjoy music and make music a part of their daily life, by examining Kodaly educational philosophy, Kodaly Solfege theory, and the musical characteristics of the third graders in elementary schools, and by studying and suggesting Kodaly Solfege teaching method, which is fit for the musical ability of the third graders of elementary schools. Kodaly Solfege’s theory has been applied in many countries all over the world, including Hungary, and established the foundation of music education. Its effects have been already proved in different documents and data. In this study, the principles of Kodaly Solfege’s teaching method, such as ‘syllable names and movable do’, ‘hand signs’, ‘flying notes and a scale ladder’, ‘rhythm names and learning rhythms’, ‘the functions of singing songs and folk songs’ were analyzed, and a more integrated Kodaly Solfege’s teaching method was presented through various activities, which were appropriate for the musical ability of the third graders of elementary schools. It is expected that this would make Kodaly Solfege’s importance in the field of music education in elementary schools become known more, and its contents would be applied and studied into more in schools.

본 연구는 코다이의 교육철학, 코다이 솔페이지 이론, 초등학교 3학년의 음악적 특성 등을 고찰하고, 초등학교 3학년 학생들의 음악적 능력에 맞는 코다이 솔페이지 학습지도 방안을 연구하여 제시함으로써, 학생들의 음악적 기초 기능 향상은 물론, 창의적인 표현력과 사고력을 길러 음악적 성장을 이루고, 그들이 음악을 즐기며 음악을 생활화하는데 도움을 주는데 그 목적이 있다.
코다이 솔페이지는 헝가리를 비롯하여 세계 여러 나라에서 적용되어 음악교육의 기초를 이루고 있으며, 그 효과가 여러 문헌이나 자료를 통해 이미 입증되었다. 본 연구에서는 코다이 솔페이지 교수법의 ‘계이름과 이동도법’, ‘손 기호’, ‘나는 음표와 음계 사다리’, ‘리듬이름과 리듬학습’, ‘노래 부르기와 민요의 역할’ 등의 원리를 분석하고, 초등학교 3학년 학생들의 음악적 능력에 맞는 다양한 활동을 통한 통합적인 코다이 솔페이지 학습지도 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통해 초등학교 음악교육에서 코다이 솔페이지의 중요성을 알고, 그 내용이 학교 현장에 좀 더 많이 적용되고 연구되어 지길 바란다.
